Thomas and Peter Ellenby are business professionals with a proven track record of success. The duo, along with their late father, John (who also founded laptop pioneer GRiD Systems), co-founded GeoVector Corporation, a pioneer in Augmented Reality, in 1994 serving in leadership roles until founding Ellenby Consulting in 2014. They have authored and co-authored over 40 patents around the world that have been licensed by Microsoft and other major corporations. The resulting technologies are in use 24/7 by millions of people worldwide.
Thomas Ellenby served as GeoVector’s Vice President, President and CEO. While at GeoVector, Thomas was responsible for managing the company’s IP portfolio and interfacing with their patent agents and attorneys. Thomas also prioritized the company’s sizable invention portfolio, filing applications that met the needs of the market as well as GeoVector’s partners and licensees. Thomas studied engineering at University College London. Thomas is a master sailor and navigator, having logged more than 25,000 open ocean miles. He is also an authority of military history, in particular World War II.
Peter Ellenby served as GeoVector’s Director of New Media and Vice President. A hyper-creative, Peter has a unique ability to see the world as it could be, not as it currently is. Peter is adept at field research having seen the birth of the mobile web and mobile phone culture & technologies in Japan and Korea while on research trips for GeoVector. Peter also was the project manager for the world’s first spatially-aware mobile computer, “Little Guy” and served as the lead for the development of GeoVector’s award-winning World Surfer mobile application. Peter studied communications at Chico State University, has worked as a coffee roaster, a band manager and as a professional photographer. Peter’s main creative outlet is music photography and a book of his work, Every Day is Saturday, was published by Chronicle Books in 2006.
